Buttplated is designed to work with earlier M95(M1895) Waffenfabrik Oberndorf Mauser stocks, Carl Gustaf Stads Gevärsfaktori stocks and HVA(Husqvarna Vapenfabriks Aktiebolag) stocks used in M94. M96 aka M1896, M38, M96-38 Swedish carbine/rifle chambered in 6.5x55 swede(264 bullet diameter) Subsequently, buttplates were fitted to a stock, those there are variations in buttplates in any given swede. What you are about to bid on is a Buttplate for a M94 aka M1894.

It's quite small and I could not get a good picture of it. There is a very small imprinted number on the bottom of the grip which I believe is#19 or 61. Also there is a cut in the left side of the stock in front of the buttplate(see picture#4) The wood is in otherwise great condition and does not look like it has been sanded or messed with. There is a small crack at the rear of the receiver on the upper grip area. The handguard color and wood grain match the stock perfectly.

However, the number on the top handguard does not match. All the numbers on the hardware match the serial number of the stock. I believe it came from a Long Rifle variant of a M96/1896 Swedish Mauser. From what I've found while researching this stock.
